Billions of pounds of benefits are unclaimed each year. It's important to make sure that you get all the help that you're entitled to.
CHALLENGING A DECISION
Find out how to make a complaint if you have received a poor service from the people dealing with your claim or how you might go about challenging a decision. If you want to challenge a decision made about a benefit, you need to make sure you follow the right process if you want to try and get the decision changed on your claim.
If you disagree with a decision that has been made on your Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit, you can dispute it and try to get the decision changed.
BENEFIT FRAUD :
If the office which pays your benefits suspects you of giving them wrong or misleading information to do with your benefits, they may investigate you for fraud. If the investigators find enough evidence to suggest you may have committed fraud, you could be prosecuted and you may have to pay back any benefit you have been overpaid.
WELFARE BENEFITS REFORM :
You may have heard about the welfare reform changes that started in 2013. Many existing benefits are due to be abolished and replaced by a new benefits system.
