Bedworth, Rugby and Nuneaton Citizens Advice

BRANCAB is a major provider of quality assured advice and information in the Warwickshire area and has helped many thousands of local people to resolve their problems.

The Service is delivered by a team of highly trained volunteer advisers from the local community, who are supported by a dedicated number of qualified advisers, as well as our national organisation, Citizens Advice.

We offer a specialised casework service for those with multiple debt problems and those having problems with housing matters including eviction and possession.

Take a look below to see the many ways we support our community.

BRANCAB - community service

More than just advice:

Removing Obstacles

The Breakthrough Project is an EU/National Lottery funded two-year partnership project designed to offer ongoing support for vulnerable people who are out of work across Coventry and Warwickshire.

disability rights

Disability Rights

Our Disability Rights Unit helps people to complete application forms for Personal Independence Payments, Employment Support Allowance and Attendance Allowance.

community wellbeing

Managing Change

By working in partnership with our local authorities and other organisations, we are able to improve the health and wellbeing of local people and help them overcome problems.

Saving Money

Maximising Income

Overcoming financial hardship or even debt often requires help with getting the best deals on utility bills. Our most difficult cases almost always require a closer look at outgoings and ensuring all relevant benefits are included or applied for.

At Brancab, we've always recognised a need to link up with other organisations so that our clients are not pushed from "pillar to post" in order to resolve their problems.

financial problems

Financial Education

Helping local people manage their money not only benefits them, it also reduces the burden on the wider community. We run Financial Capability sessions, delivered by experienced advisers.

pension advice

Pension Advice

Pensionwise - specialist pension guidance for those aged 50 or over. With recent changes to pensions and the way they can be accessed, impartial advice is a must. Find out more

Energy Advice

Energy Advice

We also deliver energy advice showing our clients how to save money on their energy as well as making sure they are properly insulated.

We take on a small number of volunteer advisers each year. For some, this can be an important step towards future employment or a return to working by building skills and confidence. Find out more

Other charities

Reaching Out

Each year we hold a 'bring & buy' sale in Nuneaton town centre as well as other events to raise money for a local or national charity. The stall is run by Citizens Advice volunteers.

Bedworth Silver Surfers Group

Silver Surfers

We actively encourage older members of the community to learn IT skills and help them keep in touch with friends and family. Find out more about the Bedworth Silver Surfers group

Mobile Advice

We run "pop-up" advice sessions at various locations at different times of the year in Bedworth, Nuneaton and Rugby to help those we might not otherwise reach.

Safe Place

Safe Place

We are part of the “Safe Place Scheme”. We offer a place of safety to those who find themselves distressed, or at potential risk, whilst out alone.

Disability Confident Scheme

Disability Confident

We are also part of the Disability Confident scheme which aims to successfully employ and retain disabled people and those with health conditions.

Money Plan

Money Plan

We work with the Personal Finance Society and JUST. Qualified financial advisers, Ray Cairns and Adrian Brand deliver advice on retirement planning, Power of Attorney, wills, inheritance matters, equity release, investments, mortgages and financial planning.

GP Surgeries

Working with GP surgeries

Family relationships and particularly debt, can lead to severe depression. Many GPs will refer their patients to us to help address their problems rather than the patient being locked in a never-ending cycle of medication.

Quick Advice

Early Intervention

At BRANCAB we have a reputation for intervening at an early stage which not only helps reduce stress for clients, in the process we save the local economy money.

LAW Referral

Referral Service

We administer the online 'LAW Referral Service' which allows outside agencies including those working with the vulnerable, to refer their clients directly to us or to another support service - even out of hours.

Bedworth Venue

Meeting Place

We provide a venue for organisations that would otherwise struggle to organise meetings and group support sessions including MIND, Silver Surfers and the Carers Group.

For every £1 invested in our service, £3.46 is saved by government and public services (£2.9m a year).

Clients EACH DAY *

7 in 10 people said they couldn't have solved their problems without our help
